Explore Dungeons is a family business located in the "Upstate" of South Carolina. Chris (dad) designs and prints 3D miniatures and terrain, and Logan & Gail customize, paint, and photograph them. As demand increases, we also bring in additional guest artists as needed.

The business was started in 2018, but the story begins way before that...

Chris first discovered role-playing games in the spring of 1979 when he was introduced to Dungeons & Dragons through a school club. He quickly moved on to other games, such as Champions, Star Frontiers, Gamma World, and Star Trek, but never left D&D behind.

In addition to RPGs, we share of love of boardgames and tabletop miniature wargames, such as Battletech, Mage Knight, HeroClix, Mercs, Warhammer, Warhammer 40K, and Warmachine/Hordes.

With miniatures, comes terrain...

Over the years, as different games came and went, we amassed a large collection of fantasy & science fiction miniatures, but one thing was always missing: good looking, affordable, terrain. We've tried it all. Homemade, store-bought, cardboard, plastic, you name it... Typically if it looked good, it wasn't cheap, and if it was cheap, it didn't look good (or took hours to create and was easily destroyed.)

As 3D Printing technology improved, so did the availability of high quality digital models, including miniatures, monsters and terrain. We are licensed printers for all of the companies you see listed on our site.
